At Ludlow Cycle Club we are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by some amazing countryside with a wonderful mix of quiet roads.
For experienced club cyclists moving into the area, joining the Club is a great way to quickly get to know the local area and connect into a competitive race programme. For those less experienced you will get to learn how to ride safely and efficiently in a group and it’s far easier to head out for a winter ride knowing you’ll be with a group of mates rather than out in the cold on your own.
Affiliated to both Cycling UK (touring) and British Cycling (competitive racing) we currently have an active membership of about 70 people. As such we are large enough to be able run a full programme for both the social cyclist and those keen to race, yet small enough for joiners to quickly get to know people, feel part of the club and influence what we do going forward.
As a general guideline new joiners should already be used to cycling regularly, be familiar with their bike and be confident riding it. For those who have never cycled in a group before, it can take a bit of time to get used to and requires both a reasonable level of underlying fitness and bike handling skills. We are more than happy to provide any help required, if necessary, by pairing people up with a more experienced rider for their first few rides. Alternatively, for those who want to first work a bit on core fitness, we are happy to advise on some great local routes which they might want to try out to start with.
